JAFRAL – Founding Member of PhageEU Coalition

JAFRAL is proud to be one of the founding members of PhageEU, a European coalition dedicated to advancing the role of phage therapy in the fight against antimicrobial resistance (AMR).

As part of this initiative, JAFRAL recently participated in a high-level debate in the European Parliament, where we joined discussions on the current status and next steps for phage therapy with key stakeholders, including Members of the European Parliament (MEPs), the European Commission, EFSA, and EMA. The meeting was organized by MEP Tiemo Wölken, member of the SANT and ENVI Committees.

Being a founding member of PhageEU allows JAFRAL to actively contribute to shaping the European strategy for integrating phage therapy into healthcare. This coalition represents a crucial step in building awareness, creating regulatory clarity, and ensuring that patients across Europe can access phage-based solutions promptly and safely.

We are committed to supporting this effort and to continuing our work in making phage therapy a reliable, scalable, and impactful tool against bacterial infections.
