Speaker Announcement: Dr. Radu Botgros

We are pleased to introduce the third confirmed speaker at the JAFRAL Phage Summit 2026 — Dr. Radu Botgros, an infectious disease specialist and Senior Scientific Officer in the Public Health Threats Department at the European Medicines Agency (EMA).

Dr. Botgros combines extensive clinical experience gained over more than a decade of work in infectious diseases with a long-standing professional career at the EMA, where he covers anti-infectives, vaccines, and antimicrobial resistance (AMR). He is also a member of the EMA Emergency Task Force (ETF), which plays a key role in coordinating the EU’s responses to major public health threats.

Presentation on Day 2 of the Conference

On the second day of the conference, Dr. Botgros will present insights into the regulatory framework for phage-based therapeutics — a rapidly evolving field that is gaining increasing importance in the fight against rising antibiotic resistance.
